House envy

11.27.2011

Whenever I walk into his house, I turn a bit green. And it actually suits the beautiful colours you'll find in this place. My talented friend Pieter hosted his birthday party last weekend and as usual, I was in awe of 1) the food and 2) his lovely house. I love how he is not afraid of bright, bold colours and how his sentimental objects become a part of the quirky playfulness of the decor. He lives in a charming old house in Capital Park.

Kook 'n tekkie

A couple of weeks ago we took a drive to the outskirts of the city. We drove out to the very very West, with Van der Hoff Road, and came across this race track. Love the signage, love the colours, love the nostalgic feeling that this place brings. I think it will be a good idea for a theme party or a fun day out in the sticks or just a good laugh...
Please note that I'm not supporting street racing or any other dangerous vehicular activities.

Nothing like a good old-fashioned soft serve ice cream to end the afternoon.

Confession #98

12.07.2010

I love bright colours. Colours that remind me of the African skies and the Highveld grass and maize crops and happiness. My friend Nuka gave me this lovely "bitonga" skirt. Well, it's like a skirt and a short combined. It is from Mozambique. I think it will be perfect for our upcoming Argentina trip (only 58 hours to go!!!). It is soooo comfortable. I absolutely love it. Thanks babe!
